The first step is to meet with you at a convenient location and discuss the individual requirements - the date, venue and a basic outline of the ceremony. At the interview it is usual to complete the Notice of Intended Marriage and discuss the intended ceremony. My aim is to structure the ceremony so that you are comfortable and at ease, especially in relation to the words used. I offer sample ceremonies and suggestions for personalising vows, readings and poetry. Together we arrive at the appropriate wording that expresses your feelings.
It is also my duty to advise you of Marriage Relationship Education courses which are available. These courses provide insight into how to maintain a good relationship with a partner. Before getting married I suggest that couples undertake a Marriage Relationship Education/Enhancement/Enrichment Course to help them work on any areas which may need strengthening.
A week before the wedding date, I like to meet with you to discuss final arrangements and make sure all is in order and exactly as you want it. At this point we finalise any official paperwork which is required by law to be complete prior to the marriage being solemnised. In addition, I suggest that we have a rehearsal with all the members of the bridal party.
On the day, I arrive at least 30 minutes ahead of the appointed time to familiarise myself with the venue and meet those involved with the ceremony to ensure its smooth running.
